Privacy, field by field
Reading a page or working through a practice test creates no account, cookie or analytics record; only the host's standard request logs see the visit. The one thing recorded is a tap on an app button, and every field of that record is listed below.
Reading and practicing
- Pages are plain static files with self-hosted fonts. No analytics, advertising or tracking script loads on them.
- Practice questions are checked in your browser. Your answers and score aren't sent anywhere and aren't saved; closing the page clears them.
- Like any web host, ours processes the usual request data (IP address, browser user-agent, the page asked for) to deliver pages and stop abuse.
App buttons
App buttons go through our own short redirect at go.ase-certification-guide.com before reaching the App Store, Google Play or a practice page here. Each tap records:
- the page you were on, the test the button belongs to, which button it was and when;
- where you were sent: an app store, or this site's practice test;
- the operating system and full user-agent string of your browser;
- your IP address, its network (ASN and provider name) and a location estimated from it: country, region, city, time zone;
- the referring page, any parameters on the link such as utm_source, and which data center of our host answered.
That is the whole record. It has no name, email or account, and the redirect sets no cookie. We use it to learn which pages send people to an app and to weed out bot traffic. It isn't sold or shared with advertisers.
The label on store links
Links into the App Store and Google Play carry this site's domain as a campaign label, so the stores can count installs that started here. The label is the same for every visitor and says nothing about you.
Keeping records and opting out
There's no fixed retention period for tap records yet. The site has no mailbox, so there is no channel for requests either. If you'd rather not be recorded at all, search for the app in the store yourself instead of using our button.
